Bernard Bot has an extensive service record in international political and diplomatic fields. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2007. After his term as Minister, Bernard Bot joined Meines Holla & Partners.

Bernard is involved in complex international issues, among others for companies in the shipbuilding sector, as well as the oil storage and energy terminals industry.

He was Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1989 and 1992. He concluded his diplomatic career in the position of Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the European Union in Brussels.

In the 1980s, he was the deputy Permanent Representative at the North- Atlantic Council in Brussels. Subsequently, Bernard Bot became the Dutch Ambassador in Turkey.

Prior to his work as an ambassador, he held various diplomatic positions. This included assignments at embassies in Argentina and East Berlin in the 1970s.
